wilmington-dividerJacob Wilt was born September 29, 1816 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to John George and Anna Maria Wilt.

He enlisted and was mustered in on December 12, 1861 as a Private in Company B, 75th Ohio Infantry. During his time with in the service his unit was engaged in Virginia at Monterey, McDowell, Cedar Mountain, Freeman’s Ford, and Second Bull Run. Private Wilt was discharged for disability on November 20, 1862 at Claysville, Maryland.

Died July 1, 1876 in Ward Township, Hocking County, Ohio and buried in Dawley Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio.
