The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) is a patriotic and educational organization, carrying on the legacy of the Grand Army of the Republic.The SUVCW was founded on November 12, 1881 and incorporated by Act of Congress August 20, 1954. The SUVCW is the legal heir to and representative of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The purpose of the SUVCW is to perpetuate the memory of the “boys in blue” who fought for the Union in the Civil War (1860-1865). Full members must have an ancestor who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Revenue Cutter Service during the Civil War. Associate members do not need to prove ancestry, and are very welcome. The Gen. George Wright Camp No. 22 of the SUVCW was named after Gen. George Wright (1801-1865) and was organized in 1995.

AREA: The Camp serves Northern California, Sacramento, and the Central Valley.

MEETINGS: Plaza Hof Brau, 2500 Watt Avenue (on the corner of El Camino Avenue) in Sacramento, CA, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month EXCEPT June, July, August and December.

DUES: Annual dues are $36.00, with a $10.00 initiation fee paid the first year
